The location is convenient, right on the edge of a main road leading to local attractions. The food options, particularly bar snacks like the venison chili, get high marks for flavor and quality.
Noise from the constant traffic might keep sensitive sleepers awake. The room had some plumbing quirks—especially an awkwardly placed soap tray—and noise from neighboring bathrooms added to the discomfort. The menu felt overpriced, with simple dishes like fat chips and a burger not living up to expectations, especially with breakfast being an additional cost. The overall decor looked tired, with frayed carpets and stains that detracted from a clean impression.

Had a lovely time during my stay, especially enjoying the delicious steak night dinner and the cozy log burner area for drinks. The garden was perfect for relaxing after a long day, and the sun terrace had great views. Only downside was some inconsiderate parking that made it tricky to get to my spot, but overall a great experience! 😊

I had a fabulous dining experience with an outstanding roast dinner and a delicious venison chili that was to die for! The atmosphere was cozy, and the unexpected extra bacon roll on our second night was a nice touch. The cleanliness of the place didn't quite match the fabulous decor depicted in the photos, but I'd still return in a heartbeat!

The steak night was a highlight, with perfectly cooked ribeye steaks and generous portions. The friendly staff provided a welcoming atmosphere, enhancing our dining experience. the rooms could have benefited from more tea and coffee supplies, as well as additional toiletries, which were limited during our two-night stay. Despite these minor issues, the overall experience was enjoyable, making it a place I'd gladly revisit.

Charming atmosphere and delightful food
We had a fantastic one-night stay in the themed Double Room. The historic ambiance was lovely, and the staff surprised us with a celebratory dessert for my boyfriend's birthday, which was such a heartwarming touch. Breakfast was a highlight with a variety of delicious options that set us up for the day ahead. My only suggestion would be to offer a quicker check-in process, as navigating through the busy bar could be improved.

Perfect family getaway
We stayed for a night and the room was super spacious, perfect for our little one to play. The shower was easy to use and the bed was massive! Just a heads up, it’s actually two singles together, but it worked fine. We enjoyed the bar/lounge area too, a nice spot to unwind after a busy day. The only bummer was the Wi-Fi was a bit spotty at times.

The place had a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. My bed was extremely comfortable with crisp linens. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet expectations, and some cleanliness details could use improvement, like dusty decor. Still, it was a pleasant stay overall.

We arrived tired and wet, but the warm welcome from Sean and his team instantly softened our mood. They even treated us to a complimentary bottle of lovely French Grand Cru with dinner. My room was spotless and the bed surprisingly comfortable, providing a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was delicious, especially the freshly cooked options, making the wait worthwhile. we had a hiccup when hot water went out in the evening, and I found the check-in process slightly inconvenient due to staff shortages. The area was noisy at night due to its main road location, although good secondary glazing helped a bit. Just wish we’d had a spoon for our tea and coffee – small but frustrating!
